So our household has suddenly gone from 5 to 7! No this is not an announcement. We are watching the Wells' kids, Olivia (age 4) and Naomi ("Mimi" age 2 1/2). Their parents are out interviewing for residency, so we are watching their kids while they are gone. They arrived at our house on Wednesday around 1:30pm. Our girls were so excited to have them come over and have a "sleepover." Kailyn went crazy when they got here. I just love to watch Kailyn when she gets excited about things, she becomes so excited and so "motherly" ("oh its ok I can help" "do you want to sleep with my teddy bear so you won't get scared?")
So we started out the day by playing outside. It was so nice out. We had to take advantage of the nice weather, it is suppose to drop 20 degrees the next day and the rest of the week. Rachel Weber ended up coming over and joining the fun too. Here they are playing in the sandbox.
And eating a nummy snack
Unfortunately, all the fun was a little much for Mimi and she ended up crashing on the couch for the little bit.
We ended up having the Webers over for dinner. We grilled up some chicken Kabobs for the kids and some beef for the adults (Ken marinated the beef and it turned out really good). When I was making the Kabobs Olivia informed me that they were her favorite. Wasn't sure if she knew what she was saying, but she seemed to love them along with the mashed potatoes, salad, and rolls.
I was not holding my breath when it came to bedtime and the kids falling asleep. Kailyn along with the other 3 were practically bouncing off the walls they were so excited. Mimi did get a little scared and insisted on having the door cracked. I was amazed though they only talked, got out of bed, "had to go to the bathroom", etc for about 45 minutes. Not bad!
