Kids are Kids

Ava found my new goggles.

She thought they were so funny (I think mom was laughing harder than her though).

Chase had to try them on too.

Ava loves to climb on things, unfortunately,  this time she took the wrong way off the chair and got her head stuck.

One night for Family Home Evening we had ice cream. Someone thought sprinkles would be fun. Apparantly, Chase found some black ones from Halloween.

Nothing like a bowl of black ice cream.

I was very impressed by this giraffe Caden drew in school. I love the little smile on it.

Caden loves when his sisters read to him.

We got a booster seat for Ava. Chase got in his head that it belonged to him and staked it out. He climbed in and didn't want to get out until he was forced to.

This year Kailyn's class took a trip to Omaha, NE. She was so excited to ride a Charter bus and go on this major field trip. They left at 6:30 am and didn't get back until 7:30pm. She had SOOO much fun.

Game Night at Church

Our church had a game night and dinner for the adults.
The kids were happy because they got to play in the nursery with the other kids.

One of the games we played. We divided into two teams and then had to line up in a certain order (ie, what month your birthday is in, how far we currently live from our birthplace, number of kids in family etc) and the first group to line up correctly won.

Another game we played involved a ping pong ball and two teams of four. Start with the ball in the middle of the table. The first team to blow the ball off the table, without using hands, scores. The first team to 5 wins. Our team won! (I am the one with brown hair leaning over the table in top, Ken is to the left of me)

It was a fun game, although I did get pretty light-headed.

For those not wanting to pass out from hyperventilating, there was a dice game going on at the same time. They rolled a dice and based on the number they answered the corresponding question.

It was a very fun night! For me it is always a great night when I get to be with Ken and friends.

Making the Game Cabinet

Ken works nights. So when he has a day off he actually has a night off. It has been a bit of a challenge for him to find meaningful things to do in the middle of the night that don't wake us or the neighbors. One of the things he has tested his hand at is making things. Here is one of his projects...

Look at the cool grooves that his new table saw can make.

Cutting all of the pieces.

Using a router to rabbet the back.

Caden, Chase, and Jordan filling in the nail holes.

They were so excited to be able to help.
Ava checking out the work, seeing that everything is up to standards.
Time to paint.
Kailyn helping with the painting.

I think it's looking good.
