Carrying the gear to the campsite
Can't forget the pillows!
Setting up the tent
What a nice place to sleep. It was raining slightly when we arrived, but it quickly cleared up.
Walking the trails.
I asked the kids to make a funny face. Chase is watching Caden to see how it's done.
More funny faces.
What campout is complete without tin foil dinners (hobo dinners at our place).
Chase enjoying his dinner. Notice all the steam. Cooked to perfection.
The campfire is getting ready for some S'mores making.
Man, these are good!
We next had a fireside indoors.
It was late. What can I say?
Caden assured me he was not sleeping. He was just resting his eyes because he couldn't keep them open anymore.
The boys asleep.
Waking up.
Um, scary?
Um, scary, too? Not sure what's going through his head right now. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, and biscuits for breakfast.
Climbing a tree.
Races. This was the simple run for all the kids where all the kids won.
Caden making a dash for it.
Chase just a little behind the rest but still trying.
Spoils for the winners.
Dads had to race with their legs tied together. Caden took this picture.
Then we had a 3-legged race with kids. We only made it half way, and even then we were quite far behind everyone else.
Chase trying his hand at a race with his feet tied together.
And down he went.
Trying the wheelbarrow race. This lasted for just long enough for a picture.
The boys and I had a lot of fun and can't wait until the next Father-Sons campout we are able to attend. In the meantime, we will work on our racing abilities to be more competitive next time.

What fun! I especially like the picture of Chase looking to Caden to see how to pull a face.
