Mother's Day 2013

True to form we celebrated Mother's Day late (thanks to Ken's schedule). Sunday we were able to get a group picture and the kids gave me their projects they had made at school.
My babies, in their natural state.

Another try, except Ava who apparently thought we were doing a silly picture.

Caden with his homemade flowerpot.

Love this happy kid.

Jordan with her school project.

On the outside of the bag it said, "Mom, you rock!"

Then inside was this cute rock she had painted and decorate. So cute, it made me laugh.

Kailyn was last but definitely not least.

She had taken a bunch of her poems and had bound them together. I love her poems.

The back is decorated with bows, one to represent each person in our family

The second gift was a plate she had decorated and written one of her poems around the outside.

A picture of the front (unfortunately, the instructions they had sent home on how to set the color and a misprint and her plate never set. She is working on redoing it for me.)

The official celebration a week later.
All of the kids had their own gift to give. Ava was so excited to give me her gift.

Ken had the kids fill out a sheet about their mom. I loved it! It was so funny to read them. Here I am reading Chase's.

Caden, so excited to read his sheet.

Jordan and her gifts. Yep, I love snickers and chocolate.

Kailyn picked out the prettiest jewelry she could find.

All of Ken's helpers for dinner.

A delicious stew.

Homemade pound cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream.

Soccer Pics

We did soccer for the very first time this year. Kailyn, Jordan and Caden all played for the first time. They learned so much. Saturdays were quite hectic. Ken worked every Saturday but 2 so I was left to run from one game to the next (the kids had games at different parks). Sometimes I even had to leave one game early to take the next child to their game and then go back and pick up the first child, on top of that we had birthday parties almost every single Saturday. It was crazy but fun.

Kailyn playing (she is in the white jersey on the far left.)

Kailyn getting into the game. (middle, white jersey, black socks, kicking the ball)
Kailyn playing goalie.

This is what the little kids did during the game, played on the great playgrounds.

Jordan playing while she waits for her turn to play soccer.

Chase and Jordan

Jordan did great watching the kids so I could watch Kailyn play (the park was close so I could still see them )

On to Caden's game (he is the closest to the camera in the red shorts)

Sometimes the boys got distracted and were often caught talking and goofing off during the game. What more would you expect from a bunch of 6 year old boys?

Caden kicking the ball. He even made a goal!

Caden going to get the ball (white jersey).

Finally, on to Jordan's game. Jordan playing goalie and throwing the ball in. She liked playing goalie and defense.

Grandpa B's Surprise Birthday Visit

Grandpa Bassett turned 60 this year. So those of us that could, went to MT to surprise him. He was very surprised! He saw the grandkids first and I think it took a minute to register who they were. While we were there we were able to help build chicken coup for Grandma and Grandpa's new chicks.

The boys took the jeeps out for a little fun...

...Oops, Spencer's jeep got high centered.
Jordan finally came to help with the chicken coup.

Caden (and James) checking out the baby chicks.

Some of the dogs found some baby rabbits. The rabbits were very tiny and the kids loved them. They all wanted to take them home.
Kailyn loving the soft bunny.
