Christmas 2014

We had a great Christmas (even with Ken working). Here are some pictures from Christmas break.

These two are often clashing, so to see them get along is priceless. Especially when they are being so silly. Oh, and Ava is not turning blue from cold she had been coloring with a blue marker.

Ava doing a little reading while we look for Christmas presents.

Chase was promoted from green belt to purple belt. He is the small one in the middle.

His instructor putting on his new belt.

I took the kids to go and see Santa at a nearby mall. He is a great Santa. He talks to all of the kids (even though he has been sitting there all day and has a line of kids waiting) and is just so happy.

Ava went first.

The boys went together.

Hannah gave the reaction I expected but Santa was so patient and kind.

Kailyn did not want to sit on Santa's lap, so Santa came and got her. Thank you Santa for not letting my girl grow up too fast, even though she is trying.

Jordan was happy to sit on Santa's lap.

I think Santa is telling her she can't have that dog/cat/bird/hamster/pet she has been wanting.

Cute photo op they had available.

We actually celebrated Christmas early but Santa was more than willing to oblige. Here Ava is making a card for Santa (we also made and decorated sugar cookies for Santa).

The kids got to open a pair of new pajamas on Christmas Eve. Apparently, Jordan was pretty excited about that.

I love Ava in the background of this picture. She got some nightgown pajamas with princesses on it. To say she likes them is an understatement.

Kailyn excited to have some pajamas that fit (she just went through a growth spurt, so nothing seems to fit).

Chase got some dinosaur pajamas.

Here is the princess pajamas Ava was so excited about.

Here are Caden's new pajamas...oh wait, I think he is just showing off Hannah's new pajamas.

Ava's pajamas were everything she loves all rolled up into one. A dress, a dress that spins, fancy with sparkles and gathering, and princesses.

Oh, there is Hannah modeling off her new pajamas.

Hannah trying to get a peek to see what she got for Christmas.

Singing some Christmas songs around the piano. We also watched a video about the birth of our Savior.

Christmas Morning!! (well, at least for us) We woke up to our stockings stuffed.

Presents under the tree.

And the cookies eaten by Santa, along with a note.

Before any presents can be opened we sit down to a nice big breakfast together.

Kailyn grinding some wheat for our pancakes.

Happy Jordan, so excited for Christmas.

Kailyn helping to make pancakes.

Breakfast together.

Sausage and bacon a rare treat in our family.

A friend gave us some coconut syrup that was delicious on our pancakes.

Fresh blueberry pancakes.

Kailyn has been wanting to dye a strip of her hair blue. Instead she got some blue hair clip-ins.

Every year we draw names and the kids try to secretly buy for their person.

Hannah got this doll from Grandma and Grandpa Jones and instantly loved it.

She was hugging it and laughing.

Just wait till she finds out it can sing and talk too.

A present to Dad from Ava and Hannah.

Opening a game to all of the kids.

Jordan had forgotten she rode her scooter to school last year just before a long break. She left it at school and we never saw it again. She asked for a new one for Christmas (This time we will engrave her name on it so that if it is found hopefully we can get it back)

While we were opening presents, Hannah discovered some one's chocolate. This was her first experience with chocolate and I think she is a fan. She started crying when I tried to take the wrapper away, so I just let her have it until she felt she had sucked it dry.

Kailyn very excited to be upgrading her camera.

Grandma and Grandpa stopped in to say hi on there way down to stay with Aunt Brenda.

On the real Christmas Day, I took the kids down for dinner at the Eddingtons'.

Ava and Becky had a lot of fun playing together.

Chase had fun showing me all of his tricky moves.

The boys hanging out.

Kailyn and Jordan helped Kyla do some painting.

Becky showing us how strong she is.

Making some gingerbread houses in teams.

Looks like a very fun Christmas! I love that you have a big breakfast together before you open presents like we used to. I think it was the best part of the day for me.
