Chase Turns 3

Chase is a lot of fun to have in the family.  We love his smile and his (mostly) happy/pleasant demeanor.  He has a way of saying "yes" that gets me every time he says it; eg, "Chase, do you want to be tickled?" "Yes."  I don't know why, but it's just cute when he says "yes."

Caden excited . . .

. . . then demonstrating how the new toy works.

The obligatory and heart-felt hug.

After opening his next present, Chase ran up to his mother and gave her a great big thank you hug.  It was very cute and very much appreciated, but Shelly had to divert him back to Jordan, since the present was from her.

This must be a picture after the hug, because I'm pretty sure he didn't push his sister away!

He definitely means the thank you.

Chase loves his new clothes from his grandparents . . .

. . . especially his new Gap jacket, which I'm pretty sure he hasn't taken off since he opened it.

Right person hugged this time.

One of Chase's favorite presents was his new backpack.  It allowed him to have a backpack like his older siblings.  It also allows him to have something to carry his loads of toys in (more on this later).  This backpack actually has workable zippers.

Chase immediately ran to his room and grabbed his other backpback to show that he has 2 backpacks now.  I guess he missed the idea that the old backpack would be tossed, as the zippers didn't work and there were holes in the pockets.

Chase's birthday cake this year was meant to show his need to collect various items in the house and put them into his bucket or backpack or laundry basket or any other item that could hold his dinosaur, light sabor, puzzle, fish, doll/baby, ball, sucker, comb, heart, helicopter, etc.

The important thing to note here is Shelly's demonstration of how to light candles.  Her fingers are getting a little toasty with that flame licking right up at them.

He tried at least 3 times to blow out the candles.  No luck.  I think it's because his lower lip is still protuberant and the air goes up towards his nose.

Just a cute picture of the boys, I guess.
