Jones Family Reunion

The Jones family reunion was in Colorado this year. We start the night before the official reunion with a Rockies game for those that were in town.

Not often we get us all in a picture.

Waiting for everyone to show up.

Sadly, it started raining like crazy and they had to delay the game.

We waited a long time for the rain to stop. When it finally did, it was pretty late so we didn't get to see much of the game before we had to head out.

We rented a large cabin to stay at. The road to get there was through the park was very windy. The kids got motion sickness, which was not fun since they were throwing up and I was alone (Ken came up a day late due to meetings). I don't think Jordan will ever eat Gold Fish again.

Ken did get to see a moose and its calf on his drive up.

Aunt Amy must have the magic. Hannah does not like going to people other than her mom and dad but she went right to Amy and even fell asleep.

The first full day we went to the lake and had a picnic lunch. Here is Nora getting ready to go swimming.

The day ended up being cooler than forecasted but the kids still had a lot of fun playing in the sand.

Some of the kids even were brave enough to go into the water. Brrr!

Scott was kind enough to share his lime with Koen.

I don't think Koen was a fan.

We rented a few paddleboats.

Jorden and MaKay with Chase and Makayla.

David and Megan with Caden and Jordan.

Scott, Grandpa, Kelsey and Kailyn.

Best way to pass the time until its your turn on the paddleboats? With a little ice cream of course.

Ashley and Amy with Hailey and Brinlee.

Grandma and me with Ava and Makayla.

Hannah was so tired, she feel asleep sitting up. Guess that's what happens when she stays up till the wee hours of the night.

There was a fun little fort at the cabin. The kids were SO excited to eat dinner inside of it.

Scott and Kelsey brought a bouncy house. The kids loved it!

Roasting marshmallows around the campfire.

The view from our cabin. Pretty amazing.

The next day, we went on a hike. All of grandkids (well minus the babies who were sleeping in hiking packs)

We even saw some wildlife.

Hannah trying to sleep in the hiking pack. As you can imagine the nap was not very restful and did not last very long.

It was a beautiful hike. (Picture by Kailyn)

Taking a little break.
Chase, Krew, Caden, Brinlee, Myla, Jorden

See told you she didn't sleep very long.

A hike isn't a hike in our family without a little rock climbing.
Caden and Makayla.
There was some gorgeous waterfalls.

We decided to go and check out Winter Park.

There was a lot of fun things to see and try. Here the kids are creating some beautiful(?) music.

Playing connect four and chess.

No better way to recharge after lots of walking than with some ice cream! The kids waiting patiently for their ice cream.

Climbing on the polar bear.

I wish this picture wasn't so horrible. I love the cuteness from the three little girls down in front.

The kids played a game of scramble. Hannah had fun just running around and causing havoc.

Jordan and Caden playing a game of checkers.

Ken and Grandpa playing a game of Jenga.

Chase taking a rest.

Some of the dads went off-roading with Ken. They climbed some pretty steep hills but also some beautiful sites.

Ken went home early but the party continued on without hime. Brinlee let us celebrate her birthday with her.

We went back to Winter Park the next day to ride the alpine slides.
Caden riding up with Amy

Did some pretty fun jumping on the tramplines.
Chase had fun flipping around and around.

Amy
Ava and Brinlee loved that they showed up with practically identical pajamas.

Hannah did you have a fun weekend?

I think that is a yes!

Looks like you have a budding photographer in Kailyn! And a very fun family!
