Our Girls Can Dance!

Kailyn and Jordan have been in dance all year.  We haven't really seen them dance at all, so we were excited for the end-of-the-year recital.  Wow, were we impressed and amazed!  These girls are awesome!  Kailyn has been doing Hip Hop dance.  She didn't enjoy it very much at first.  She was beginning and was in a class with several younger kids (3 or 4 years younger).  In January, she was joined by 4 other girls who were actually her age, and all of a sudden it was fun.  We were very impressed with her ability to stay on rhythm and follow a beat (my personal and unbiased opinion is that she had the best energy, smile, and rhythm of any of the other girls dancing with her).  Check out her video!

Jordan also just started dance this year but preferred to go with ballet.  She has had some gymnastics and has some natural talent and was able to get into a class with some other girls (one of them is her good friend from school and church) who have been doing ballet for a few years.  She seems to hold great poses.  We noticed in the video that she needs to quit watching others and just dance her part.  Shelly points out that Jordan needs to work on finding a spot when she spins because she appears to get a little dizzy.  She did an awesome job and looked absolutely beautiful.  We're proud of her.  Watch her video, as well!

Ava also loved watching the recital.  She did a lot of jumping and spinning on the seat and then laid down on the ground and did some "dance moves" kicks, etc.  Pretty cute.
