Ken had a horrible schedule this year for Christmas. He worked the late shift Christmas Eve and then came home to try and get a few hours of sleep before he had to leave again at noon Christmas day. The only time we saw him Christmas day was to say goodbye as he left for work. Since he wasn't around Christmas day we decided to postpone our celebrations till he could be there. We spent some time Christmas Eve decorating brown paper bags to use as wrapping paper.
Christmas day I did let them open one present.
Showing off the left over wrapping paper I used to wrap their present. (They used their "wrapping paper" to wrap their gifts to each other) |
Kailyn got some Mad Libs. |
Jordan has been begging for play make-up. I told her no way, for a number of reasons. I did get her some "lip gloss" and that seemed to make her happy. |
Chase got Spiderman stamps and Caden a Spiderman puzzle. |
After our little present opening we went down to Aunt Brenda's and Uncle Andrew's. We went sledding, made gingerbread houses, and had dinner. The kids had so much fun, making Christmas a great day after all.

Before the frosting could even harden, these two had picked off and eaten all of the candy on Becky's gingerbread house. |
Caden's finished product. Love the little marshmallow snowman. |
