A LONG Drive

We left Ohio and made the LONG drive to Montana for some family reunions. Ken had to bring his car because he left after the reunions to start working, and I stayed an extra week so my parents could go on a trip together. Having two cars was actually not too bad. All the kids in my car were within arms reach and I didn't have to listen to fighting. The problem was when Jordan decided to fall asleep and Chase needed some entertainment. He had a lot of fun with this box of Kleenex, Jordan was quite confused when she woke up to a pile of tissue in her lap.

Our First night we stopped in Iowa and stayed with my cousin Lindsay and her husband Scott. Here is a picture of all of the kids.
Left to right: Jameson, Hallie (in the background, she wanted nothing to do with the picture), Wesley, Kamiah, Kailyn, Jordan, and Caden and Chase in the front row.

The next night we stayed in a great hotel with a water park. We are using this trip out as our "moving trip," which means we didn't pay for the hotel. It was a great way to give the kids a break. We were able to swim before going to bed and then again the next day before checking out.
Kailyn and Chase on a kiddie slide.

Caden steering the ship.

The kids racing down the slides.

Jordan checking out the kid slide.

The kids' favorite part was this giant slide.

Jordan sliding down. She did great! We would catch her and then she insisted on swimming to the side of the pool all by herself.

Caden sliding down. He didn't even want to go down on our lap to start with, but by the end he was going down all by himself, over and over again without ever tiring.

Kailyn had fun sliding down all by herself. She loved that she didn't need us to catch her cause she was tall enough to touch the bottom of the pool.

I loved going down with Chase because he would laugh all of the way down.

Looks like a long drive was made a lot more fun with a little water break. And now your real life starts? Good luck with everything!

I love the picture of Jordan with all the tissue on her - so funny! I bet she was a little confused. Next time I have a baby/toddler on a long trip I will make sure I have a box of tissue - it would be worth it for a half hour of quiet.
