Shoveling the walks--no big deal!

Yeah, so, our first snow storm came awhile ago (about 1 month ago, something like 8-10 inches).  I had an early shift at the hospital.  When I looked out, I wasn't sure I would make it to work in my little car--no one had driven on the roads yet, and it seemed like the snow reached the bottom of my door.  Somehow, I did make it to work and enjoyed the day indoors.  When I returned home, I found our driveway cleaned off and nonchalantly drove in to park without thinking much of it.  Oops!!  Shelly felt quite unappreciated.  Apparently, she spent 4 hours shoveling the driveway (remember she's only 6.5 months pregnant), and that was getting only half the driveway done (our neighbors took pity on her and finished the other half with their snowblower).  She told me matter-of-factly that we were getting a snowblower.  I reminded her how much they cost and blew it off.  The next morning, I found that the snow had drifted in our driveway, in some places up to 2 feet.  I went out to clear the driveway.  It was COLD.  With the wind blowing, it was 15-20 below.  I shoveled for about 20 minutes and called it good (remember: Shelly, the Prego, lasted 4 hours).  I went back into the house and announced that we were getting a snowblower.

Anyway, here's Shelly using the new snowblower.  She had some little helpers, as you can see.  And me?  Well, someone had to take the pictures!

Keeping safe

What a big helper!

That looks kind of deep (it's my side of the driveway)!

CUTE!!

VERY Cute!!

Jordan turns 6!

Jordan had a fun filled birthday.  She started out the night opening presents then per her request we had Fuddrucker's for dinner, ate cake and ice cream and then watched a movie.

Opening her new scooter from Mom and Dad.

Kailyn and Jordan waiting for our food to be ready, so they can feel the disc vibrate.

Make a wish.

YUM!

We got a cake from someone at church today. Apparently, Chase loved it...well, at least the frosting. We caught him taking a butter knife and scraping off the frosting and eating it.

Chuck E. Cheese

The kids had a lot of fun at Chuck E. Cheese. My only complaint-why is the pizza so gross. Really its not hard to make decent pizza. The kids loved the games and being able to trade in their few tickets for a little prize at the end. An evening of fun for all.

Sledding

Over the Christmas break we had the chance to go sledding. Sledding here is way better than in flat Toledo, OH. This hill ended up being pretty intense! It was steep (the picture makes it look way tame) and it had a few big bumps (aka jumps). Our kids were the youngest ones there. There was no one under the age of eight except our kids, with most kids 12 or older. After a few times down and many spills we ended up just going down only the last third of the hill. Caden liked this better, he was not a fan of the jumps. The girls had so much fun. I never did get a picture of them because they would always take off down the hill before I could snap a picture.  Definitely worth bundling everybody up.

Me with Chase and Caden getting ready to go down the hill.

That is me sliding down. Kailyn and Jordan are in the middle in pink. They had just taken a spill and were getting up to go down the rest of the hill.

Ken going down with Chase. I never could really tell if Chase liked it or not. He definitely didn't like it when the sled spun around and would start going down backwards. He was always willing to go down when we asked if he wanted to go.
Enjoying some hot chocolate.
