Grandma Jones and Aunt Megan

We were so lucky to have my mom and sister Megan come out for a visit. I love when family comes to visit. There are only 2 negatives of having family visit 1) saying good-bye 2) makes me realize how much I miss them and how nice it would be to live closer to them.

The kids of course loved having Aunt Megan here. When we picked Grandma and Aunt Megan up from the airport they went running to Megan first (sorry mom). Megan was great at keeping the kids happy while Grandma and I did other things. Aunt Megan did a lot of reading while she was here, the kids loved it.

Unfortunately, the weather was not very nice during their visit. We were able to go to the library to make log cabins out of frosting and pretzels in celebration of Lincoln's birthday.

While Grandma was here she offered to paint our bedroom (one of many projects we have been wanting to get done). She did a fabulous job and the room looks so much better.

Here is the before picture. It really doesn't do it justice in terms of the trim paint on the wall and floor and the wall paint on the ceiling.

Grandma hard at work.I will post an after picture in a couple of days. Once I get new batteries in the camera and the computer back.

While Grandma was painting our bedroom and Megan was watching the kids I was able to make some meals and freeze them. I made 14 meals. They will be soooo nice to have especially since Chase can't be awake and happy with out being rocked and held.

While they were here we got a big snowfall. Ken took the kids out to take advantage of the perfect snowman weather. Jordan is not pictured because just before this picture I was standing in the kitchen when I hear some running toward the house saying Mom! Mom! I run to the door to open the door and there is Jordan on the walkway "Mom, I had to go to the bathroom but I didn't make it and now its in my boots."

Chase's Baby Blessing

This last Sunday Ken gave Chase a name and a blessing. We were so happy to have my mom and sister Megan there along with my cousin Lisa and her family (they drove from Columbus), and Ken's Aunt Sandy (his uncle unfortunately was out of town). With so little family that lives around the circle was small-Ken, Cory, and the bishop and his counselors. Chase did a good job and didn't even cry (although he spent a lot of the rest of Sunday crying and fussing).

First Haircut

Chase got his first haircut last Tuesday (when he was 3 weeks old). The hair going down his neck and over his ears was starting to bug me. Since the process involved getting undressed, Chase, of course, hated it. Kailyn did a great job taking the pictures.

Getting ready. (Look at those skinny arms and legs)

Cutting with the clippers

Chase was not a fan of getting a haircut.
All done.

Look at his sad face.

All of the hair that was cut off. It was so fine and soft.

Washing the hair off. He doesn't like baths either.
So much better.

Because Chase's hair is so fine the clippers had a hard time getting some of the hair so here he is getting a touch up. He slept through the second cut...he was pretty worn out from all of that crying.

Grandma Bassett

We were so lucky to have Grandma Bassett come out to visit. We loved having her. It was so nice having an extra set of hands. The kids loved having grandma here. Anytime you want to come and visit again, we would love to have you Grandma.

Reading stories after naps.

While Grandma was here we went to Lowes and made Valentine's Day boxes. The kids loved it. The boxes turned out very cute and it was free.

Grandma watched the kids one night so Ken and I could go on a date. For dinner Grandma opened the fridge and said the kids could have whatever they wanted. Here is what they came up with. The middle is a tortilla with sour cream and cheese. The kids ate all of it.

Chase is somewhat of a fussy baby. He loves to be swaddled and held. If he is not being held this is what he often looks like.

I had the camera out to take some pictures of Chase. Caden said, "Take a picture of me."
